Based in Ethiopia



International Contract, 24 months initial term

SNV Ethiopia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Team Leader – Senior Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist of the ONEWASH Plus programme.







Please note: we are in the bidding process and the actual start of this position is subject to successful bidding.







The Government of Ethiopia, in collaboration with its development partners has designed the ONEWASH Sector Wide Approach (SWAp). The ONEWASH PLUS programme aims to proof tests approaches in 8 towns spread over five regions and then to advocate and formulate strategies to assist the Government of Ethiopia to accelerate sustainable sanitation and water provision in small towns. The project will focus on (1) Developing and implementing a comprehensive package for urban Hygiene and Sanitation in programme areas, (2) Curriculum development and implementation of an urban water and sanitation capacity building package (3) Strengthening and enhancing the participation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the implementation of the national wash programme.







Responsibilities


Program Management: deliver effective development results, planning and monitoring, financial management, and donor reporting;
People Management: lead, manage, and coach the team of SNV advisors, local capacity builders and consultants;
Monitoring & Evaluation: ensure uniform understanding and practice in planning, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of the program in line with SNV’s internal frameworks;







Candidate profile


Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist;
Expert in urban water supply systems management in small towns;
Possess experience (10 years minimum) in coordinating and participation in similar assignments – particularly in the areas of Urban Sanitation and Town Water Utilities capacity development with excellent English writing and communication skills;
Management experience (>7years);
Working experience in Ethiopia, or similar experience in other Sub Saharan and/or developing countries is a plus
Entrepreneurial skills and attitude, as well as commitment to work for clients and in remote areas;
Established networks and strong relationship management skills;
A self-motivated achiever with excellent intercultural leadership, teamwork, coaching, communication, networking and organizational skills;
Excellent English;
