Dear Elisabeth,

To give a bit more information on the theory that poverty leads people to make decisions that may not be in their best (long-term interest).

I think it's good for us from the sanitation sector to learn more about poverty and how people make decisions; and for those who are experts in that to learn from our sanitation sector how CLTS works.


A lot of this is based on the work of: Sendhil Mullainathan and Eldar Shafir. Below a link to the article about their research with the sugarcane farmers ( I hope that one is legit):
